Craig's work reflects his love of all things sensual; that is, textures, colors and forms that delight the senses. He loves not only the visual impact of a piece, but the entire experience that comes from holding each piece in his hands – the harmony and balance of the component parts; the textures of the clay and the glazes; the symmetry of a handle that becomes an integrated part of a pitcher or teapot, rather than appearing to be a casual afterthought.
Craig began throwing pottery in 1990, and seriously since 1992. He and his wife live in Troutdale, OR, where his outdoor studio overlooks Beaver Creek, providing a place for reflection and inspiration. His work encompasses both functional and decorative pieces. Craig strives to merge beauty, art, and form, extending a bit of himself into each piece created.
