Karl’s experience as an artist began at the age of nine when his fourth grade teacher took an interest in kids with art skills. The seeds she planted followed several of them into old age. Karl spent much of his life drawing and painting the flora and fauna encountered over the last 30+ years working for the Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service. He accumulated incredible photos and memories traveling the western U.S. while performing fire suppression duties and project work.
Now retired in the small artistic community of Estacada, Karl has ample free time to produce watercolor artwork. He enjoys the flexibility of this medium and encourages people to try this technique of painting. It can be very relaxing and a distraction from everyday life!
